Friends of the West Milford Township Library held its annual book sale at the historic Wallisch Homestead on September 19-22.

Folks browsed among thousands of books in the barn built in 1914.

The West Milford Lions Club provided free hot dogs, while Girl Scout troop 94899 sold home baked goods on Saturday.

The organization would like to thank the high school football team who provided the muscle and means to transport the books from the collection site to the barn.

Other trucks used were provided by Township Councilwoman Ada Erik, Joan and Ernie Oberer, and Gary Stromberg.

Help with the collection and sale also came from Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and youth looking for community service.

The friends want to thank all the hard working people that made the sale such a success.

The Friends are a 501 (c) (3) group that raise money for free programs throughout the year held at the library, and free concerts in the summer.

It recently purchased two electronic bulletin boards, two literacy work stations for the Children’s Room, and a podium used for presentations.
