If the thought of purchasing a firearm has crossed your mind then look no further. The Friends of the Wallisch Homestead will be hosting a Firearm and Training session at the property on Saturday, Oct. 3.

Emilio Barca, a local West Milford resident will be conducting the instruction seminar.

The two-hour “Dry Shoot” class will be held on site at the Homestead located at 65 Lincoln Ave., West Milford.

Barca is the owner of Double Guns Firearms and Training and a NRA-certified instructor. He will explain safety and proper handling of all types of firearms: pistols, rifles and shotguns.

You do not need to bring a firearm, as all firearms will be provided.

The class will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Space is limited but if demand is high a second class will be added from 2-4.

All COVID protocols will be followed. There is no minimum age but the minor must be able to understand firearms safety and be accompanied by an adult.

The cost is $40 per adult and $20 for a minor. A discount coupon for Luciano’s Gun Shop in Lodi will be presented for anyone interested in a future firearm purchase.

At a later date and for a nominal fee class attendees will have the opportunity to practice their shooting skills with Emilio at Cherry Ridge Rifle & Pistol club in Sussex.
