West Milford. West Milford man killed in Cahill Cross Road crash

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Chief James Devore announce that at approximately 6:32 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, police responded to Cahill Cross Road near the intersection of Ridge Road in West Milford where a single vehicle had crashed.

A 2016 Hyundai Veloster that was being operated by 21-year-old Jimmy Barreto-Cruz of West Milford was found overturned in the woods along Cahill Cross Road.

Barreto-Cruz was pronounced deceased at the scene. The cause of death is unknown at this time. There were no other vehicles involved.

The investigation remains active. More information will be released once it becomes available.
