West Milford. Police blotter

    The following items are taken directly from the West Milford Township Police Department’s November 2020 activity report and blotter:

    DWI

    On Saturday, Nov. 14, at 12:41 a.m., Officer Jonathan Bregman was dispatched to a lower Macopin Road address on a report of a suspicious vehicle on the lawn of the residence.

    On his arrival, Bregman located the vehicle a 2015 Nissan Frontier pick-up truck and observed evidence of a motor vehicle crash.

    Bregman made contact with the lone occupant of the vehicle who was asleep on the rear passenger seat. He was identified as Jeffrey Bognar, 43, of Kinnelon.

    Police said Bregman detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed signs of intoxication.

    Police also said that after failing the standard field sobriety tests, Bognar was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was transported and processed.

    Bognar also was charged additionally with reckless driving and failure to report an accident.

    He was released to a friend pending initial appearance in West Milford Municipal Court.

    DWI

    On Monday, Nov. 30, at 9:12 p.m., Officer James Fulton was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Lakeside Road involving a 2019 Jeep Compass.

    On arrival, Fulton made contact with the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle” Victor Marceano, 37, of Middletown, N.Y.

    Police said that while speaking to Marceano, Fulton detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed signs of intoxication.

    Police also said that after failing the standard field sobriety tests, Marceano was placed under arrest for DWI. He was transported and processed.

    Marceano also was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane.

    He was released to a family member pending initial appearance in West Milford Municipal Court.
