NARCOTICS SEARCH WARRANT ARREST

On August 29, 2019 following over a 2-month-long investigation, West Milford Police Detectives executed a narcotics search warrant and subsequently arrested Tina Desanto-Lemay, 50, of Hewitt.

Desanto-Lemay was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.

She was released on Summons pending an initial CJP appearance in Passaic County Superior Court.

DWI

On August 5, 2019 at 5:00 PM West Milford Police received a call of a hit and run accident on Route 23 North in Riverdale.

The caller advised the vehicle that left the scene exited onto Germantown Road in West Milford.

The caller provided a description of the involved vehicle and a NJ registration.

Sgt. Thomas Valente observed the involved vehicle at the intersection of Macopin Road and Highlander Drive at which time he conducted a motor vehicle stop.

After making contact with Margeurit Meier, 52, of Hamburg, NJ he observed signs of intoxication.

After failing standard field sobriety tests she was arrested for DWI.

She was processed and additionally charged with refusal to submit to a breath test, careless driving, and obstructing passage of vehicles.

She was released to a friend pending first appearance in West Milford Court.

Riverdale Police were contacted regarding the motor vehicle accident and conducted an investigation.

DWI

On August 9, 2019 at 12:38 AM West Milford Police were called to the scene of a car into a tree with heavy damage at the Intersection of Ridge Road and Cahill Cross Road.

West Milford Police Officer Lewis Rose was the first officer on scene and found the driver of the vehicle suffered a minor injury and refused medical attention.

Officer James Fulton arrived on scene next and both officers found the driver, Efrain Caldera, 39, of West Milford exhibiting signs of intoxication.

After failing standard field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest for DWI.

He was processed and charged additionally with reckless driving. He was later released to family member pending initial appearance in West Milford Court.

DWI

On August 11, 2019 at 12:45 AM West Milford Police Officer Jill Brickman observed an ATV being operated carelessly in the parking lot of the Island of Spirits.

The driver and female passenger also were not wearing any helmets. Officer Brickman conducted a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the driver Mark Mossey, 30, of Oak Ridge.

Officer Brickman observed signs of intoxication.

After failing standard field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest for DWI.

He was processed and charged additionally with refusal to submit to a breath test, careless driving, failure to provide license, and failure to wear helmet.

He was released to a family member pending initial appearance in West Milford Court.

DWI

On August 15, 2019 at 11:44 AM West Milford Police Officer Stephen Herzog and Charles McQuaid responded to Rockport Pet Gallery on a theft investigation.

While taking information for the report, employees advised the involved party was allegedly returning to the store.

Both Officers then observed a vehicle matching the description of an involved vehicle pull into a parking space in the lot and made contact with the driver Sabrina Rodriguez, 24, of Hewitt.

While speaking with Rodriguez, Officer McQuaid observed signs of intoxication.

After failing standard field sobriety tests she was placed under arrest for DWI.

She was processed and charged additionally with failure to install interlock device, driving while suspended, and failure to have vehicle inspected.

She was released to a friend pending initial appearance in West Milford Court.

DWI

On August 16, 2019 at 12:14 AM West Milford Police Officer Kevin Canova was patrolling along Route 23 South when he observed a white Ford Focus unable to maintain a lane.

Officer Canova initiated a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the driver, Eric Addison, 35, of Franklin.

While speaking to Addison, Officer Canova observed signs of intoxication.

After failing standard field sobriety tests, Addison was arrested for DWI.

He was processed and charged additionally with failure to maintain a lane, unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit drivers license, failure to exhibit registration, failure to exhibit insurance card, and use of cell phone.

He was released to a friend pending first appearance in West Milford Court.

DWI

On August 31, 2019 at 02:34 am West Milford Police Officer James McMahon was observing traffic at the intersection of Union Valley Road and Lakeside Road, when he observed a motorcycle illegally pass a stopped vehicle to the left over the double yellow line and then fail to stop at a stop sign before turning on to Union Valley Road.

Officer McMahon conducted a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the driver Jason Scala, 25, of Hewitt.

While speaking with Scala, Officer McMahon observed signs of intoxication.

After failing standard field sobriety tests Scala was placed under arrest for DWI.

He was processed and charged additionally with 19 motor vehicle and equipment violations including: driving while suspended, unlicensed driver, reckless driving, improper passing and failing to stop at a stop sign.

He was released to a family member pending initial appearance in West Milford Court.

During the period, August 1-31 2019, The West Milford Police Department responded to 1575 calls for service.
