WEST MILFORD – The Lady Highlanders were handed its third consecutive loss on Tuesday, falling to the Lakeland Regional Lancers 44-24 on its home court.
Senior guard Jordyn Gerold was named the Player of the Game for West Milford, but her performance along with junior Kristina Fedor’s team-leading eight points weren’t enough in the end.
After going into halftime down 25-16, the Lady Highlanders managed to score just a single point in the third quarter.
Entering the game, the team was coming off a Feb. 2 loss to DePaul Catholic in which the Spartans outscored West Milford 18-5 in the opening quarter and the Lady Highlanders were never able to recover.
Junior forward Ashley Jacobs led the team with nine points and eight rebounds, but it wasn’t enough once again.
    The final score was 52-36.
That loss followed yet another defeat at the hands of the Clifton Mustangs, but that Jan. 31 contest was a much closer game.
Fedor led the way in that contest as well with 14 points, while freshman Rachel Chandler wasn’t far behind with 13. Jacobs also grabbed a team-leading 10 rebounds.
Both teams were going back and forth throughout the entire game, but Clifton was able to walk away with the tight 52-47 victory in the end.
The Lady Highlanders (5-13) are scheduled to play the Passaic Valley Hornets next at home on Feb. 7.
