Hackettstown The Centenary Stage Company will continue its tradition of presenting classic theatrical treasures by opening its 2007-20098 season with the comedy, “School for Wives,” by Molière, running from Oct. 5-21. Out of his own experience and personal suffering, Molière crafted the play “School for Wives,” a witty gem of confusion that manages to chronicle the biggest hopes and lowest agonies of love. Centenary will continue its season with a production for the holiday season from Nov. 23 through Dec. 9. “My Three Angels,” by Sam and Bella Specwack, is an old-fashioned holiday fable that takes a romantic look at our long-standing moral convictions of what is right and what is wrong. The season would not be complete without the annual world premiere of a new play from the Women Playwrights developmental series. San Francisco playwright Eugenie Chan’s comedy “Daphne Does Dim Sum” will premiere at Centenary with a run from Feb. 22 through March 9. The Women Playwrights Series will reconvene in April once again, bringing three new plays in workshop presentations to the audiences of the Centenary Stage Company. For three Wednesday evenings, April 9, 16 and 23 , audiences will be invited to experience the talents of three new women authors from around the country, and to play their own part in the development of new work through discussions with the playwright and cast following each presentation Tickets for Saturday evening productions are $22.50 adults, $17.50 seniors/students and $15 for children under twelve on Saturday evenings. Adult ticket price is reduced to $20 for all other evening performances. Ticket prices for all matinee performances will be $17.50. The popular “Family Night” option will be presented once again, offering two-for-one “rush seats” available at the door only on the evening of the performance, which will be offered at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, Dec. 9 and March 9. Season subscriptions are also now available, including all plays in the program at a price of $45. Tickets may be purchased through the Centenary Stage Company Box office by calling 908-979-0900 or online at www.centenarystageco.org. Performances at the Centenary Stage Company are made possible in part through the generous support of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour Association and Centenary Stage Company Guild members and sponsors.
