Sparta The Pope John Annual Golf Classic is set to be held on Thursday Oct. 11, at the Lake Mohawk Golf and Country Club. Proceeds for the event help benefit the students of Pope John athletic program. The event begins with lunch served at 11 a.m., a shotgun start at noon with a scramble format, followed by a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by prize and raffle presentations and a live sports memorabilia auction. This year’s event will include four par-three hole-in-one opportunities with a chance to win two cars, a boat and a million dollars Tee and hole sponsorships are available for $100 for businesses or families. A platinum sponsorship for $1000 includes golf for four and a large sign prominently displayed during the event. $200 per golfer includes green fees, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes.
