Orlando, Fla. - Bears Running Club members Guy and Laurie Gordon, of Stillwater, placed well despite the heat at the Race for the Taste 10K on Sunday, Oct. 7, at Disney World. Guy, 49, placed 15th overall and second in the 40 to 49 age group to win a Disney china plate. His wife, Laurie, 39, placed fourth in the women’s competition and aced the 30 to 39 age group, also winning a plate. There were more than 3,000 runners in spite of emperatures at race time well into the 90s with 95 percent humidity. The Gordons’ two-year-old, Ashley Rose, was on hand to cheer for her parents. They headed to the Magic Kingdom when the running was done.
