Ringwood — The Ringwood Garden Club recently held a Salute to Barbara Wood evening as part of the regular meeting. Wood, the only charter member still in the club, was congratulated on her extraordinary career as a garden clubber. She is also the only member who has served in all of the club’s officer positions. Voted president during the 1980s for multiple terms, she was again voted president in the early 2000s. She has served on almost every committee and was chair of many of them. She chaired special occasion events such as flower shows and the club’s 25th Anniversary Art in Bloom Show at Skylands Manor. Pat Grossi, master judge, Garden Club of New Jersey, awarded her with a special testimonial from the state garden club celebrating her 34 years of service. Ceazonia Dyer, member, presented her with the club’s tribute, a book of memories spanning the years 1973 to the present. Wood has been a member of NJBG/Skylands Association for the past 37 years, serving in every capacity from the gardens and greenhouses to the administration offices and Skylands Manor House. She was honored last year with a Lifetime Award by Tom Grissom, president of the NJBG/Skylands Volunteer Association. She has also received the Volunteer of the Year Award. Wood is leaving the Ringwood area and moving to Ohio.
