WEST MILFORD For the third time in two years, police made a prostitution arrest at the Garden Spa on Route 23. On Wednesday, Oct. 24 around 5 p.m. the County Prosecutor’s Office and the West Milford Township Police Department executed a search warrant at the Garden Spa at 2727 Route 23 in the Newfoundland section of the township. The search warrant was the culmination of a monthlong investigation. Kim Jaok, 51, of 144-16 35th Ave., Flushing, N.Y., was arrested and charged with one count of engaging in prostitution. $1235 in cash was seized as proceeds of the illegal activity occurring at the Garden Spa. Engaging in prostitution is a disorderly persons offense, punishable by up to six months in jail and $1000 in fines. Jaok was released on a summons. She was scheduled to appear in the West Milford Township Municipal Court on November 1. The search warrant executed at the Garden Spa is the third one in the last two years. All three investigations were the result of complaints received from citizens and business owners. The police will continue to monitor the location for future illegal activity.
