Pay-to-Play, cost of copies at town hall, open government YIKES!! The sad thing is that in the midst of so much rhetoric it is hard to discern truth from hype. Pay-to-Play sounds great until you uncover the fact that the pay-to-play laws will in reality hide where money is coming from. Donations will come forth from names not connected to businesses unless you take real time digging into who people are related to or who their friends are. Pay-to-Play goals are nothing but hype unless the way we fund campaigns change. Open government and the cost of copies, sounds like legitimate concerns until you really think about it. In the 26 years I have lived in West Milford I only recall asking for a copy of something twice. As far as having access to meeting minutes, well I can honestly say I have never read them on the internet. I simply don’t have the time. I wonder how much money goes into making all this STUFF available to us and how many people actually read it. My concern is good representation in our government. I like our representative form of government. I know that if honorable people of integrity lead in a form of government that offers checks and balances, I can let go and let them do their job. I am not a person who likes to micro-manage. So my vote is going for our Congressman. He has made West Milford and its needs a priority. I am voting for Scott Garrett for Congress. I will be voting for two men who have proven that they love our town and can serve its people with diligence and respect. I am voting for Joe Smolinski and Dr. Sal Schimmenti. If you do not know these two men it is likely because you are either new to town or have not been able to get involved in the life of the township. You can learn more about them by visiting: www.westmilfordfirst.org. I hope you will join me in voting for responsible representatives in government on Tues., Nov. 7th. Patricia L. Wenzel West Milford
