‘22’ Walk of Awareness

| 03 Nov 2020 | 03:14

On the average, 22 American veterans take their life every day.

Rumshock Veterans Foundation is partnering with Towns4Troops to raise awareness for our veterans and military. The goal of these events is to have you enter the 11-day challenge of 22,000 cumulative steps to remember veterans.

For 11 days, starting Nov. 11 (Veterans Day), we ask you to join us in dedicating 22 000 cumulative steps (2,000 steps per day; average 20 minutes a day) for our Veterans.

Join us for the launch at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at CVS Field, 123 Windermere Ave. in Greenwood Lake.

Prizes will be awarded to 1) the student with the highest number sponsors; and 2) to the person with the most creative way of generating steps. One hundred percent of all proceeds are donated to organizations active in veterans suicide prevention.

Rumshock Veterans Foundation (rumshockvf.org) is working to do all it can to offer veterans the opportunity to improve their physical, mental, and emotional health as well as reconnect with society through meaningful activities.

There are four components to the Foundation’s sustainable program: 1) Victory Village, a tiny home community;

2) Hydroponic Farming, maintained by village residents;

3) Victory Transportation, to assist village residents in making appointments to healthcare providers and other necessities; and

4) E-Waste Recycling, involving the recovery of materials to be used in future production.
