‘A change is coming on November 3’

In response to the letter “President Trump might not be a polished politician, but his policies are great and he keeps his promises,” I would like to know what alternate universe the writer resides in.

I believe it is the universe where alternate facts abound.

Mr. Trump has not kept his promises but is very adept at making his supporters believe he has done so. In 2016 the two major promises to his base was that he would build a wall and Mexico would pay for it and he also would provide great health care in lieu of Obamacare.

Both promises are just as empty as the plans he has for the future of America.

Most importantly he failed his promise made at his inauguration to protect Americans against threats both foreign and domestic. He has utterly failed to protect Americans against COVID and I assert he has the deaths of thousands on his hands.

This is not my opinion. The New England Journal of Medicine published an editorial condemning the Trump response to the pandemic and, in the first time in its prestigious history, condemned a president, stating that Trump should not be re-elected due this egregious response.

How many more Americans will die as Trump fiddles and says do not vote for Joe Biden because he will listen to the scientists in fighting this virus.

Trump would rather listen to politicians who support his every word and outlandish statements such as 85 percent of mask wearers get COVID. Trump is truly a threat to the health and well-being of Americans.

He did nothing when Russians put a bounty on American soldiers.

He praises dictators and ignores our allies and treaties.

He claims that Mr. Biden made personal gain from Ukraine and Russia. This has been totally debunked by the news media including the Wall Street Journal, hardly a left-wing bastion.

The only persons who have monetarily benefited from his Presidency is himself and his family.

In respect to health care Trump’s sole goal is to overturn Obamacare and, therefore, in this time of a health crisis, deprive millions of Americans of health insurance.

I have heard him say over the last few years about his great health care plan which unfortunately exists only in his deluded mind.

I could go on and on about his failures and despicable pronouncements. He has called for right wing militias to stand ready if he is not elected. He has encouraged racial division and has tried to stoke fears in white people about the brown and Black people as being a menace to their well-being.

He is attempting to disenfranchise thousands of Americans in this election, but we will not let this happen.

when patriotic Americans of good conscience vote him and his family out of office and once again restore America to its leading place in the world.

To paraphrase President Lincoln, you can fool some of the people all of time as evidenced by some of the letters to this paper supporting Mr. Trump, but you can’t fool most of the people and their voices will be heard.

We see this daily in the long lines throughout our country casting ballots which I believe will repudiate this administration and elect Joseph Biden and Kamala Harris the leaders of this great country.
