    To the Editor:
I have the utmost respect for people who seek elected office.
Republican or Democrat, man or woman, these brave individuals sacrifice precious family time for the betterment of our town.
We should all be truly grateful, as this task takes commitment and dedication.
As a life-long resident, I have seen the obstacles West Milford has overcome to flourish as a beautiful community.
We still have many mountains to climb to improve our quality of life.
That being said, this election comes down to who is best qualified to be our mayor.
My husband Lou is a true leader.
He inspires others to do their best and maintain good morale.
Lou is a hard working family man and devoted, supportive and loving father to our four boys.
He instills family values in our sons and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need.
His ability to remain positive and strong in the face of adversity amazes me.
Despite the criticism Lou faces, he remains dedicated to our town.
West Milford is his home and making a difference is his primary goal. Working together is critical to this objective, a quality Lou has proven to display in nine years as Township Councilman.
Good leaders must make tough decisions.
Lou has a proven record of making these judgment calls that may not appease everyone, but are made in the best interest of local residents.
“Mayor” is not only a title - it is a commitment that cannot be taken lightly.
This position must be held by someone with integrity, perseverance and the knowledge to make positive choices for all residents, young and old.
Lou has what it takes to move West Milford forward.
Please join me in voting Row D this Tuesday: Signorino for Mayor, McGuinness and Castronova for Council.
This is the team that West Milford needs and deserves.
    Melissa Signorino,
    West Milford
