String Haiku for Spring: The Vernal Equinox 2020

My current submission, "String Haiku for Spring: The Vernal Equinox 2020," gives a particularly worried, poignant slant to our current celebration of Spring, which is understandable during the horrid coronavirus pandemic which is spreading through New York and New Jersey.

As senior citizens, my husband, Gary, and I have been in self-isolation on our 24-acre farm in Upper Greenwood Lake since mid-March.

We leave our property only for very quick trips to the bank, to the pharmacy, to buy groceries for ourselves and, of course, for all of our animals.

Using email, it's easy to keep in touch with all of our friends and most of our out-of-state relatives; fortunately, we both have many interests which prevent us from being bored.

I hope you and the staff at The Messenger are staying safe and are sitting six feet apart! Thank you for your excellent coverage of the problems your readers are currently facing.

I support your publication fully, and I thank you for continuing to publish it in these difficult times for the print media.
