‘Abilities' bike tour and walk-a-thon adds motorcyle

    jefferson-The Department for Persons with Disabilities will hold its Seventh Annual DPD "Abilities" Bike Tour/Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, Sept. 25. (Rain date: Sunday, Sept. 26.) The events will include 50-, 27-, 20-, and 12-mile bicycle tours through Jefferson Township and Lake Hopatcong, as well as a leisurely walking tour through Saffin's Pond on the Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. There will be a barbecue along with surprise attractions for all participants. Registration is $45 per participant and $100 for families. The fee may be donated by the participant or raised by pledges. For the second time, the event will add a "Thunder for the Disabled," one-hour motorcycle tour through Sussex County beginning at the Chatterbox Drivenin at Routes 15 and 206 at Ross' Corner in Augusta and ending in Oak Ridge. The required donation for the motorcycle tour is - $30. All proceeds will benefit the department's services to individuals with disabilities.
