Franklin - The Acoustic Sausage will take the stage on Thursday, Dec. 29, for a special show at the Fonebooth on Rte. 23 in Franklin. The “Holiday Mega Bash” will feature the full band, with Sam Magill on bass and vocals, Mingo Lodge on guitar, and Ned Stroh on drums. A star-studded list of performers, including Mary Byrd, will round out the evening, and one of Santa’s elves will be giving out “rejected” gifts. “Rock and roll will be alive on this magnanimous evening,” quipped Mingo Lodge. “I hang my head in shame for people not able to attend.” The Acoustic Sausage has spent the last five years touring extensively throughout the eastern United States, and plans to hit such locations as Key West and Colorado in the spring. Their gripping song writing and high energy performances have helped create a solid following for the band. “They got dance moves out of me that I never knew I had,” said Allison Smith, self-proclaimed dancing diva. The band has recently constructed a state-of-the-art studio and is currently recording with Duane Sumal, legendary engineer and hipster, This “master of the knobs” has worked with Busta Rhymes, Kid Rock, Ziggy Marley, and Naughty by Nature. A new Sausage CD is in the works and slated for a March release. The Fonebooth has long been a hub for live music in North Jersey.
