Fredon During the summer, kindergarten and first grade students at Fredon Township Elementary School were treated to a music program which highlighted several styles of American Folk Music. The program included humorous folk songs, work songs, legends, Gospel, Dixieland and patriotic songs. Performing for the students were Stephanie and Mark Hontz, who are residents of the Fredon school district. Their program featured a variety of instruments according to the song and genre, including bass fiddle, 6-string guitar, 12-string guitar, mandolin, open back and resonator banjos, acoustic bass guitar, trumpet, trombone and triangle. The students learned about the folk genres and the many different instruments being used while singing and clapping along with the performers. Each child received a Honer mini-harmonica as a memento of the occasion.
