Sparta —The Sparta Friends and Neighbors organization will hold its annual live-bidding Holiday Auction at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the Shepherd of the Hills Church, 246 Woodport Road in Sparta. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Refreshments are free. All proceeds go to a good cause. Gift certificates, electronics, jewelry, gift baskets, holiday items and door prizes are donated by local businesses and members of the Sparta Friends and Neighbors for auction. Attendees at last year’s auction report it was “a good time,” “a lot of fun” and “a most enjoyable evening.” Proceeds from this year’s event will be going to the Robie Foundation, which encourages and finances heart screenings for children in order to prevent the sudden loss of a child to an undetected heart condition. A portion of the proceeds will also support the Sussex County program People Help, which assists in paying the heating bills for those in need. Bring a friend or neighbor to the Holiday Auction and join in the fun of live-bidding. For those interested in being a recognized donor of a product or service, call 973-726-7551.
