Newton The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council has announced its 20th Annual Skylands Art Show and Sale to be held April 20 through 25, at the Sussex County Community College, Building C, One College Hill Road. The exhibit features 90 works of art by 51 artists. The works include photography, sculpture, mixed media, oils and pastels by professional and emerging artists from Sussex County, Morris County, New York State and Pennsylvania. Over 230 pieces of art were received and juried by Erika Jaeger-Smith, Associate Curator of Exhibitions at James A. Michener Art Museum; Jimmy Clark, Executive Director of Peters Valley Craft Center; and Al Zerries, painter, portrait artist and author. The opening reception will take place on Saturday, April 21, from noon to 3 p.m. Champagne and hors d’oeuvres will be served and entertainment will be provided by guitarist Glenn Zervas. The awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Over $3000 is awarded to artists in various categories. The cost for this event is $15 per person. The exhibit is open to the public at no charge.
