Newton —The Newton-Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council kicks off its fall season with an exhibit of accomplished local artists work titled “Bits and Pieces” scheduled to run Sept. 16 - Oct. 21. Many new artists are exhibiting and the council is expanding the 9 Moran St. Gallery to display jewelry and wearable art. Because of this expansion, the council asks that any artists interested in exhibiting their artisan crafts contact them. The council is also reopening the Public Gallery located at the Judicial Center 43-47 High St. in Newton. “Altered Light,” a photography exposition, will be the first exhibit. The exhibit will open on Sept. 20 and run to Nov. 15 on the second floor of the gallery. For more information call the council at 383-0027 or e-mail arts-heritage@mercurylink.net.
