Arts council to celebrate the garden

    Newton - The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will celebrate the garden during May and June with art exhibits and a county-wide garden tour. The opening reception for “The Garden of Earthly Delights” will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at the center, located at 9 Moran St. in Newton. The reception will begin with entertainment by master guitarist Glenn Zervas, and end with a slide presentation and lecture by gardener Marguerite Guarisco, titled “Splendors of Italian Gardens.”. On display in the gallery will be garden theme art work, bird houses, plants and garden accessories. On June 3 the council will host its eighth annual Town and Country Garden Tour, which showcases local gardeners. (Rain date is June 4.)
