WARWICK-The Illustrious Theatre Company, now in its third season at the Warwick Valley Winery, in Warwick, N.Y., will hold auditions for the second show of its season, "The 1959 Pink Thunderbird," by James McLure. Auditions will consist of readings from the script 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 13, and Monday, March 14, at the Town Hall, in Warwick. The play is a combination of two one acts, "Laundry and Bourbon" and "Lone Star," comedies which are companion pieces that tell the stories of three women and three men in Maynard, Texas shortly after the Vietnam War. "Laundry and Bourbon" requires a cast of three women ages 20 to 40: Elizabeth is a strong, sensual, yet sensitive woman married to the character Roy, who appears in the play "Lone Star"; Hattie is a blowsy, brassy woman with a sense of humor who has an adage for every occasion; Any Lee is a spoiled, gossipy woman whose life revolves around the country club. In the play "Lone Star," the three male roles range in age from 20-40 are Roy, who is an uneducated, belligerent Vietnam vet lean but with the beginnings of a beer gut; Ray is his younger brother and is sloth-like, slow; Cletis is a friend of Ray's whose "life should have been terminated in high school." Ashley Sampson, "Laundry and Bourbon," and Cyndi Emmerich, "Lone Star," will direct. The company also seeks stage managers for the plays and welcomes new technical staff. Show dates are the weekends of April 22-24 and April 29-May 1. For information, call 764-4936; or e-mail email@example.com.
