ANDOVER-Perona Farms' Executive Chef/Owner, Kirk Avondoglio, will be cooking at "A Taste of Generosity", a benefit for the ARC of Hunterdon County. Avondoglio volunteers for nearly 40 charitable events each year, most of which help to enrich or improve the lives of children. "A Taste of Generosity", will be held on Monday, Oct. 4th, at The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse, and is co-hosted by Chef Craig Shelton. Reservations at $200 per person may be made by calling 908-284-6035. Avondoglio will roast a whole pig for the 400 or so guests expected. About 20 guest chefs from all over the state will join Shelton and Avondoglio. In addition, "A Taste of Generosity" will feature a garden tour and entertainment. Avondoglio's great grandparents, Emil and Angiolina Perona, founded Perona Farms in 1917. Over the years, the landmark facility evolved from a dairy farm to a boarding and guest house that attracted celebrities from New York City, to an a la carte restaurant and now to a restaurant/catering establishment. Perona Farms is located at 350 Andover-Sparta Road (Route 517) in Andover.
