Beemerville - The Beemerville Presbyterian Church will host its traditional Harvest Home dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, at the Beemerville Fire House, directly across from the church on Route 519. The Beemerville Harvest Home dinner has been a tradition in Beemerville and the surrounding area since 1907. It was originally held under a tent on the east lawn of the Beemerville Church, where the congregation gave thanks for the harvest. Preparation for the dinner involves the whole congregation. Crafters have been busy creating items for the “fancy table,” another Harvest Home dinner tradition. The winner of the “chef’s award,” another tradition at the event, will be announced at 6 p.m. Dinner will include ham, scalloped potatoes, corn on the cob, green beans and “secret recipe” coleslaw, all on the menu by popular request. Wayne and Loraine Card, along with Jack and Emma Prout, are co-chairing the event. Tickets are $12 per adult and $6 per child, and will be available at the door.
