Lafayette - Dianne Ochiltree, nationally acclaimed children’s author, will appear at Olde Village Book Cellar from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, in conjunction with the release of her latest book, Lull-A-Bye, Little One. Proceeds from the event will be donated by the Book Cellar to First Book, a national nonprofit organization that gives children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. Ochiltree will autograph copies of her book and will also read to children at 2 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The Book Cellar will provide snacks for the kids and coffee for parents. ”Kids love Dianne’s books, and love to hear Dianne reading them,” said Edna Direbund, manager at Olde Village Book Cellar. “And we’re really excited about helping out First Book, which is a great organization. It’s also a great way for us to use our new expanded space. There’s room for everyone.” Ochiltree’s previous work includes critically acclaimed children’s books, Pillow Pup, Ten Monkey Jamboree and Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins. She also reviews children’s books for The Children’s Literature Newsletter (childrenslit.com), and serves on its advisory board. The June 10 event is free and open to the public. Olde Village Book Cellar is located in Olde Lafayette Village, 100 yards north of the Route 15 - Route 94 intersection. For information, call 973-383-0040.
