Vernon - Bob Wilson, an avid art collector, knows a good thing when he sees one. His most recent acquisition, the Cardinal Art Gallery in Vernon, is one of the country’s top wildlife art galleries. Wilson, who lives in Vernon, is a long-time customer of the gallery and purchased his first limited edition print from its previous owner back in 1984. “As the new owner, my goal is to offer the same high-quality, limited-edition prints, canvas prints and original paintings that have been the hallmark of the gallery for the last 22 years,” he said. Since Wilson took over the gallery in September, he has acquired many new original paintings and is currently featuring a “Show of Cardinals,” with one room of the gallery filled with nothing but cardinal limited-edition prints and original paintings. “We also provide a competitively priced custom framing service in which the customer can be involved down to the last detail, or can simply leave it up to us,” said Wilson. Starting Feb. 14 until the end of March, the gallery will present a wolf exhibit. “In addition to containing limited edition prints and original paintings, there will also be a running video of wolves in the wild,” said Wilson. “I would urge people to come down and look, and I’m sure that they will be pleasantly surprised by what we have to offer and by the prices.” Wilson said he has commitments for new original works from painters Terry Isaac, Mark Mueller, Grey Giordano, Will Goebel, Linda Rosin and John Seerey-Lester. The Cardinal Art Gallery, on the corner of Route 94 and Vernon Crossing, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, as well as evenings by appointment. The gallery is currently offering a 25 percent off special until Feb. 12. For more information call 973-764-5050.
