— Most familiar to folk audiences as a founding member of the female trio Red Molly, Carolann Solebello will play the New Jersey Botanical Garden on Friday, Aug. 24.
Solebello returned to solo performance in August 2010 after six years with the band. She has three full-length Red Molly CDs to her credit, including James (2010), which peaked at #4 on the Americana chart, and Love and Other Tragedies (2008), which spent 10 weeks in the Americana Top 15. She also has three solo CDs to her credit and is currently touring in support of her 2011 release, Threshold, a contemporary take on folk-music roots.
Joining her for the NJBG concert are guitarist Fred Gillen, Jr. and percussionist Cheryl Prashker.
Solebello is a winner of the 2011 Susquehanna Music & Arts Festival song writing competition.
Grab a lawn chair or blanket and come enjoy the concert, which begins at 7 p.m. Light refreshments are available for purchase or you can bring your own, but no alcohol or pets. If the weather is bad, the concert is moved indoors into the Carriage House Visitor Center. NJBG requests a $5 per person donation.
