Lafayette To coincide with the celebration of Independence Day, the Art at the Mill Gallery in Lafayette is launching a new exhibit entitled Three Cheers for the Red, White, and/or the Blues. The exhibit will run from Sunday, June 29 through Aug. 31. And whether these colors kindle feelings of new nationalism, of old nationalism, or remind you of the morning sky; the artwork demonstrates the wonder of color and the glory of red, white and/or blue. Brenda Decker from Stockholm, Rick Perez from Highland Lakes, Agatha Wyman from Highland Lakes, and 15 other artists from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania have responded to the call. Decker is a painter, a collage artist, and creates monoprints. She also owns and operates her own framing business. Perez is a painter with extensive experience in both plein air and studio work. His portraits go beyond his ability to duplicate an exact image of his sitter and capture a reality of life that seems to be missing from the current art trends. Wyman is a ceramic artist who creates six-foot sculptures down to six-inch bowls, and nearly everything in between. She is currently part of the Artists-In-Education Residency Program being offer to New Jersey schools through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
