Trenton Throughout this holiday season, Classroom Close-up, NJ continues to bring compelling stories about the students, teachers and community members who develop and participate in successful and creative school programs statewide. This month, Classroom Close-Up visits Kittatinny Regional High School, in Newton, where upperclassmen studying World Languages create a World Languages Village. The village has a bank, ethnic restaurants, gift shops and tourist attractions that allow underclassmen to practice their French, Spanish and German in a fun yet challenging atmosphere. Students receive Euros and grades based on how well they interact using their target language. This Classroom Close-Up, NJ edition airs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 and at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23. Classroom Close-up will feature the 111th, biennial Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival at Waterloo Village in Stanhope, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 25 and at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30. Many New Jersey teachers and students are among the festival attendees. An original weekly program, Classroom Close-up, airs on NIK Public Television Mondays at 6:30 p.m., with a re-broadcast on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. Classroom Close-up, NJ is a co-production of NJN and the New Jersey Education Association.
