SUSSEX — Sussex County Community College’s “Thursdays on the Green” music series continues on tonight, July 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m. with country music performances by the Christopher Dean Band and Katie Armiger. Motorcycles from around the area will also be on display during the performances. The regional blues and soul band based out of the Central New Jersey area, works up and down the east coast year round. Having toured worldwide and recorded two albums with Big Jack Johnson and The Oilers, The Christopher Dean Band has recorded two solo albums of their own. Katie Armiger will begin at 7:30 p.m. Armiger’s vocals and skillful songwriting are clearly showcased in her new music. At age of 17, Armiger released an 11-track album, which features the previously released single, “Make Me Believe.” She has written a group of songs that convey messages of strength, hope and inspiration. Music critics call her “a passionate and driven performer, well beyond her years.” Each of the performances in the concert series will be held on the Connor Green or in the Lakeland Bank Pavilion. A dance floor has been added this year to the front of the stage and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the show, rain or shine. Call 973-300-2360 or visit www.sussex.edu.
