Blairstown Gallery 23 on Main Street in Blairstown will feature jeweler Susan Marie David and glass artist Jeanine Erickson as November artists of the month. They will be at the Gallery to meet the public on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 11 AM to 4 PM. David has designed a collection of artistic semi-precious silver and gold jewelry. She won an award at Art Across the River 2005 for a double-strand black and gold, coral necklace. She uses mixes of mediums and textures in designing her jewelry. She may match silver with sea shells, antique crystals with fine silver or gold wire, peridot with pearls, or items to create individualized pieces. Erickson’s work is essentially multimedia pieces that can include art glass, hammered copper sheet and wire, ceramics, agate slices, fossils, and fused glass pieces. Her organic lines, creative use of negative space, and decorative soldering serve to augment her designs. She makes boxes, kaleidoscopes, mirrors, and panels. She teaches instrumental music and stained glass at Morristown Beard School in Morristown. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Sunday from noon to 4 PM.
