Lake Mohawk The third annual Brain Research Foundation Dinner will be held on Nov. 6 at The Tides Estate in North Haledon. Lake Mohawk resident Faye Simon Harac welcomes all to participate in this event that will fund, in addition to other programs, the IES Brain Research Foundation Student Summer Fellowship Program. There will be outstanding food, open bar, auction, 50/50 raffle, and entertainment, featuring singer Ron Gartner. Gartner’s shows pay tribute to songs of the fifties and sixties, with a salute to the big hits from American Bandstand and Motown. Also enjoy D.J. music and dancing courtesy of Oh Studios. The fellowship program, which benefits from the dinner, allows science-oriented college, graduate and medical school students to spend a summer working with and learning from a highly accomplished scientist in neuroscience. This year, among the faculty sponsors for student fellows, were Dr. Paul Greengard, a Nobel Prize winner and Mony DeLeon, voted as the world’s pioneer in imaging Alzheimer’s disease. You must make reservations for dinner, as tickets will not be available at the door. If you are interested in attending, donating, volunteering, sponsoring or would like information about the Foundation or the Student Summer Fellowship Program, call Faye Simon Harac at 726-6218 or go to www.iesbrainresearch.org.
