Stanhope Jim Haba, director of the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, has announced an initial roster of poets who will give Main Stage readings at the 11th Biennial Festival to be held over four days, Sept. 28 through Oct. 1 at its original home, Waterloo Village in Stanhope. Among the initial roster of poets who will give Main Stage readings and participate in other activities during the festival are Ekiwah Adler-Beléndez, Taha Muhammad Ali, Coleman Barks, Robert Bly, Lucille Clifton, Billy Collins (U.S. Poet Laureate 2001-03), Toi Derricotte, Mark Doty, Jorie Graham, Linda Gregg, Tony Hoagland, Linda Hogan, Galway Kinnell, Kurtis Lamkin, Andrew Motion (current British Poet Laureate), Taslima Nasreen, Grace Paley, Linda Pastan, Gerald Stern (New Jersey Poet Laureate 2000-02), Sekou Sundiata, Brian Turner, and Ko Un. In all, an international array of sixty poets - winners of the most prestigious literary prizes - will join other artists, including storytellers and musicians, for the festival’s four days of readings, conversations, and performances. The Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival, is the largest poetry event in North America. The Festival is a celebration of poetry that immerses participants in four days of readings, conversations and performances.
