Jefferson The Joseph F. Lamb Council 5510 of the Knights of Columbus of Milton-Oak Ridge will be holding its 4th Annual Beefsteak Dinner on Saturday, March 24, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. The festivities will run from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $40 adult and $30 children 17 and under. Admission price includes beefsteak, celery and fruit platter, pasta, fries, ice cream cake, beer, soda and coffee. There will be door prizes, an auction for a football, autographed by Otis “OJ” Anderson and a 50/50 Raffle. This year’s guest speaker will be Giants’ star running back Joe Morris. As a rookie in 1982, Joe scored a touchdown on his very first rushing attempt; a prelude of what was to come. Many consider “Little Joe” Morris as the greatest running back in Giants history. In 1985 he rushed for 1,336 yards and a league leading 21 touchdowns, rushing for 141 yards in their 17-3 postseason win over the San Fransisco 49ers. Joe was a key member of the ’86 Super Bowl Championship team, rushing his way to a 1,000-yard season. Joe went on to add two more 1,000 plus yard rushing seasons. In the Giants march to the Lombardi Trophy, Joe rushed for 313 yards in three playoff games including a 159 yard, two touchdown performance against the 49ers. Joe was selected to the Pro Bowl in ’85 and ’86 seasons. He finished his NFL career with 5,585 rushing yards, 111 receptions for 960 yards and 52 touchdowns. Tickets will be available at AJ’s Country Cone on Berkshire Valley Road. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Proceeds to benefit local charities and the Knights of Columbus Scholarship fund.
