Sparta -Ginnie’s House Children’s Advocacy Center will hold its annual dinner auction beginning at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, at Lake Mohawk Country Club. Theme for this year’s event is “Banking on the Future,” to serve as a reminder that children victimized by abuse are in need of immediate and long-term intervention to help reduce the effects of the trauma and to facilitate healing. These need support to overcome the tragedy of abuse. Many of the services provided to these abused children is dependent on the funds raised by this annual event. These services include therapy, medical services, summer camp, tutoring, family advocacy, prevention and community education. The evening will include a live auction conducted by auctioneer Vic Brown, a silent auction, and tricky tray, along with a 50/50 raffle. Items include vacation packages, tickets to sporting events, paintings by local artists, crafted wood and theme baskets, and many others. The auction committee will accept donations until Nov. 2.
