Teen Talk’ designed for discussion about the body image, relationship, nutrition Sparta - The first in a series of seminars just for teenagers was held on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at the New You Health Center, located at 23 Main St., in Sparta. The series is based on recommendations made by a selected committee of students, ranging from freshmen to seniors, at Newton High School. The inaugural seminar was led by Jill Aquino, school nurse, whose topic was “Teen Talk: Getting Answers to Questions Regarding Body Image, Relationships and Nutrition.” The next seminar will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16. Randy Weiss, financial planner, will discuss “A Smart Girl’s Guide to Money!” A special program will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23. The program will include a fashion show, free food samples, coupons, and drawings. Admission is $5, with a percentage of profit going to the Room for One More animal rescue shelter. The series will return to its regular schedule at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, with a discussion of “Celebrity Secrets” led by Christine Charles. Pre-registration is required for all events.
