Vernon - The Highland Stage will hold an open audition for its summer youth musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Holy Counselor Lutheran Church on Sandhill Road in Vernon. Based upon the popular movie musical starring Julie Andrews, the Broadway version of Thoroughly Modern Millie contains a full score of new songs and characters. It opened on Broadway in April 2002 and ran for 903 performances. The Highland Stage is bringing it to the Vernon High School auditorium Aug. 4 through Aug. 12 for its annual summer youth musical.
