The West Milford High School Student Council and Macopin Middle School Student Council are holding its Third Annual "West Milford Spooktacular" event at West Milford High School and Macopin Middle School on Saturday Oct. 26, from 4-8 p.m.

Fun for all ages, the 2019 Spooktacular Event will feature a Trunk or Treat, vendors including food from "Franklin Chicken and Ribs" and delicious desserts from "The Brownie Bar" available for purchase, music and entertainment by DJ Elvis and Precision Dance Company, and the extremely popular Macopin School "Haunted Hallway."

The students and staff of WMHS and Macopin Student Councils have been working hard planning to host the 3rd Annual West Milford Spooktacular for the West Milford Community.

They hope the 2019 event is even more successful than the past two spectacular Spooktacular events, and helps them raise significant funds to benefit Sheryl's Den Animal Rescue; while also providing a safe, fun, and family-friendly community event for students and residents of all ages.

WMHS Spooktacular Trunk or Treat and more...

The Trunk or Treat portion of the event, including vendors and music entertainment will be located in the West West Milford High School parking lot on Highlander Drive (to be moved inside the High School if inclement weather).

For a $5 per participant entrance fee, attendees can enjoy the evening "Trick or Treating" at the many creatively decorated trunks sponsored by a variety of High School sports teams, clubs, and activities groups, as well as community participants from outside the school.

Student Council Advisor David Gerold said trophies and prizes will be awarded for "best trunks", and a new event this year: a "Doggy Costume Contest".

"This year we will also be inviting our 'well behaved' four legged friends for a doggy costume contest to help support Sheryl's Den Animal Rescue," Gerold said.

He said pleasant and polite pups for the doggie costume contest will be welcome on the exterior grounds of the schools only, and must be on a leash as per law and for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all attendees.

WMHS Spooktacular Trunk or Treat tickets will be available at the door for participants to come at any time during event hours, or tickets may be pre-purchased online at www.wmtps.org; click on the "Halloween Spooktacular" link.

Anyone with questions about the WMHS Spooktacular Trunk or Treat events should contact Gerold at david.gerold@wmtps.org.

Macopin's Haunted Hallway

The "Haunted Hallway" portion of the Spooktacular event will be conveniently located right across Highlander Drive at Macopin Middle School and will run from 5-8 p.m.

This year's theme is “Creepy Carnival.”

Macopin organizers said the Haunted Hallway can be done in a "Full Scare" or "Kids Version", so all age levels are welcome.

Just let the Haunted Hallway staff "Tour Guide" know your choice (and about any special concerns) when you check in a few minutes prior to your scheduled tour time.

Spooktacular organizers strongly advise those interested in attending the Macopin Haunted Hallway purchase tickets in advance to reserve a time slot.

Space is limited and the event quickly sells out each year.

The Macopin Haunted Hallway ticket price of $8 per participant also includes admission to the WMHS Spooktacular Trunk or Treat event anytime during the event hours.

"Please remember that the Trunk or Treat will run from 4-8 p.m. and you can come any time you want; however, to enjoy the Haunted Hallway you will need to sign up for a time," Gerold said.

For ticket information, advance purchase options, and to select a time slot for the Haunted Hallway, visit www.wmtps.org and click on the "Halloween Spooktacular" link.

Questions about the Haunted Hallway can be directed to arthur.joecks@wmtps.org.

If you would like to help, host or sponsor a trunk, participate as a vendor, or make a donation, Gerold said there may still be spots available for additional "trunkers", sponsors and vendors; and donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
