Sparta - Hilltop Country Day School will showcase 70 area artists and sculptors in its 29th annual art exhibition and sale, to be held Friday, Oct. 13, through Sunday, Oct. 15. The exhibit will feature the works of Sparta artist Karin Lowney-Seed, “We are very excited about the diversity of the work in our 29th annual art exhibition and sale,” said Kathy Prevete, co-chair of the event. “The exhibition includes world-renowned artists’ work from both public and private collections.” Co-chair Mitzi Brettler noted, “The exhibition this year includes pieces from different media including acrylics, oils, watercolors, graphics, pastels and mixed media, as well as sculpture.” Artists interested in showing work may apply to Ginnie Avondoglio, Hilltop Country Day School director of development, at 973-729-5485, or via e-mail at gavondoglio@hilltopcds.org. Prevete and Brettler are working closely with the school’s development office and a group of parent volunteers to plan this year’s event. An opening champagne reception with the artists will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday evening, Oct. 13. Suggested donation is $10 per person. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with complementary admission to visitors. Hilltop Country Day School is located at 32 Lafayette Rd. in Sparta.
