Hopatcong On Saturday, June 2, Hudson Farm will host its Hopatcong Charity Hike. Friends and families of Hopatcong and neighboring communities can participate in a moderate to slightly challenging 3 to 3.5 mile hike through the wooded trails of the Farm, including a portion of the Highland Trail bordering Bear Pond. Hudson Farm will award every participant their age in dollars to for one or all of these charities: the Hopatcong Schools’ PTOs, the Ambulance Squad, Fire Department and Animal Haven. All four will have booths at the Farm for donations and educate the public about their services. The Farm will also serve a complimentary lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers, and a gift tote bag will be offered to every hiker. The hike begins and ends at Hudson Farm, at 270 Sparta Stanhope Road (Sussex County Route 605), 0.3 miles north of the intersection with Maxim Drive. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until 10:30 a.m. when the last walkers will leave. Parking is available at the Farm and on neighboring properties. Spaces are limited. Preregistration is possible at any borough schools or at Borough Hall. This is a rain or shine event, and no strollers or pets will be allowed. Sturdy footwear is recommended. For information, visit Hopatcong Borough’s Web site or the Hopatcong Schools’ Web site or e-mail Michael Foley at mjf46@hotmail.com.
