Illustrious Theatre holds auditions on Jan. 25 for one-act play fest

    Warwick, n.y. - The Illustrious Theatre Company, in residence at the Warwick Valley Winery in Warwick, N.Y., will hold auditions for its new one-act play festival at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Warwick Town Hall, 132 Kings Highway, and at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Warwick Valley Winery, 114 Little York Rd,, in Pine Island. The audition will consist of readings from the scripts of the plays that will be produced at the winery during the festival. The company seeks actors for roles in the following plays: Before Nightfall, a poignant drama by Beverly Wallace (a man in his 60’s to 70’s and his daughter in her 40’s); Fifteen Minutes. a comedy by Dave DeChristopher (four women, ages 20-50, and one man in his 30’s); Enjoying Your Fame, a black comedy by Jed Downey (three men, ages 20-40, and one woman, 20-30); Coffee with God, a touching serio-comic piece by Kal Wagenheim (one man in his 30’s-40’s, two men 40’s and up, and two women in their 20’s). Production dates for the new play festival are Friday, Feb. 24, through Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Warwick Valley Winery, and March 10 through March 12 at Tristate Actors Theater in Sussex. Robert Smith and Bonnie Schonfeld, both of Warwick, and Mary Clifford, artistic director of the company, are slated to direct.
