HEWITT — This weekend should be great fun at the first annual family festival at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. is planning its first family festival to take place on Friday, June 7, through Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Festival events will include games, ethnic foods, music, dancing and contests including a bake-off and an antique car show. There are activities to engage everyone, whether as a participant or an observer.
On Sunday, the Highlands Economic Development and Tourism Corporation (HEAT) is working with the Jersey Off Road Bicycle Association, Team Town Cycle and the West Milford Recreations Department to run a bicycle safety day at the festival from 1 to 6 p.m. Anyone wishing to have an informal safety check of their children’s bikes and helmets should stop by.
The festival happens rain or shine. There are tents and lots of indoor activities. Hours are Friday, June 7, 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 11 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m.
