Oak Ridge - Robin Rose Bennet, writer, herbalist and “green witch,” will give a talk on “Healing Herbs for Women” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at the Jefferson Public Library, 1031 Weldon Rd., in Oak Ridge. Bennett says she “loves the earth and gives voice to the healing wild food and medicine plants which surround us.” She is a teacher of “WiseWoman Healing Ways of Herbal Medicine” and “EarthSpirit” teachings, and the author of Healing Magic: A Green Witch Guidebook. The book addresses the concept of healing, both of the physical body, the spiritual body, and of the relationship between humankind and the earth. It outlines a life-affirming, nature-honoring path, in which magic is presented as the pursuit of harmony with nature. Bennett will be selling and signing copies of her book after the presentation. A teacher of herbal medicine in hospitals, medical schools and progressive learning centers, Bennett also has a private consultation practice in New Jersey and NYC. To register for the program, call 973-208-6115 or send e-mail to cobrien@main.morris.org.
