Join your neighbors for "Concerts Under the Stars" this summer

WEST MILFORD — West Milford Community Services and Recreation is sponsoring the “Concerts Under The Stars” free concert series once again this year. These concerts will be held at the gazebo in Bubbling Springs Park on Macopin Road in West Milford at 7:15 p.m. on the nights listed below.

There are some new and exciting bands this year that for your entertainment. The concession stand is open for dinner and snacks. The schedule is as follows:

July 10 – “The Rockaholics” - Jimmy The Barber’s Rockaholics, a classic rock band playing songs from the 60s through the 80s. This four-piece band is an area staple; their good music and humorous antics make for great family fun.

July 17 – “Thunderhill” - Country’s finest playing up a storm best describes this top 40 and classic country band. Get ready to “kick up your heels” as West Milford welcomes back this outstanding band.

July 24 – “Streets of the Bronx” - This Do-Wop group is sure to entertain with their songs from the 50s and 60s. Butch Barbella is the former music director of The Duprees and wrote the score and theme song for the motion picture “A Bronx Tale.” Jerry Brown opened for Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Four Tops and more, and Bobby Rustici has backed up bands such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and more.

July 31 – “Back In Tyme” - They've been called “one of the most innovative groups to hit the east coast since 1958.” Come and enjoy a night of your favorite oldies. Be prepared to get you up and dance.

Aug. 14 – Island Beach Party - With a tribute to Jimmy Buffet by the always entertaining “Parrot Beach.” Put on your Hawaiian shirt, grab a cheeseburger and get ready for paradise. This unique band takes you to the ultimate vacation destination with their fun island music. This “island happening” will take place right on the beach just steps away from the gazebo. Shoes are optional.

Aug. 7 is reserved as a rain date, if needed.

If you enjoy these concerts and would like to contribute, The Community Services and Recreation Department asks that you consider becoming a concert sponsor.
