HOPE At the Land of Make Believe, located in Hope Township, the new season kicks off with Grand Opening festivities this Memorial Day Weekend, with the ride “Free Fallin’” making it debut. “Free Fallin’ adds a new dimension to the park,” says Christopher Maier, owner of the family amusement park. “It is perfect for the daredevils’ in the family. We have always been committed to rides and attractions that appeal to families and Free Fallin’ truly fits that description.” The family thrill ride, specifically made for children 8-12 years old but an adventure for any age, is Land of Make Believe’s first new ride in the “dry park” in several years. “Pirate’s Plunge” is the latest addition to the Pirate’s Cove Water Park, which also features “Cannon Ball,” a mammoth water slide ride. The Land of Make Believe has been providing a safe experience for parents and their children for the past 53 years, at its 30-acre location in the foothills of the Jenny Jump Forest. “At Land of Make Believe, it’s all about family, from kids in strollers to grandpa and grandma,” says Maier, whose father, Hermann, designed and opened the park in 1954. “Families can participate as a group. Parents often tell us that they are having more fun than their children!” Admission is $21 children (2-18), $19 adults and $17 seniors, with children under 2 are admitted free. The park, two miles from Exit 12 on Route 80, is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on weekends through June 9-10 and daily beginning June 16, through Monday of Labor Day Weekend. The season finale weekend is Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8 and 9. For more information, call 908-459-9000 or log on to www.lomb.com.
