NEWTON — For over a third of a century, Southside Johnny has been a staple of the music industry with over 30 albums and thousands of live performances done around the world.

The band's newest album, "Pills and Ammo," is full of new material and packed with the band's exuberant rhythm and blues feel and the Jukes horn section, but has a sharper, guitar-oriented, rock and roll vibe to it.

Known for their hits "I Don’t Want To Go Home" and "Havin’ a Party," the band consists of Southside Johnny, Glenn Alexander, Chris Anderson, John Conte, John Isley, Jeff Kazee, Neal Pawley and Tom Seguso.

“I’ll stack my group against any group out there. We enjoy playing, and the audience enjoys having a good time. Music is a shared emotion. We distill it down to that,” Southside Johnny has said.

the performance is Friday, June 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $59 for premium seats, $49 for orchestra seats and $39 for balcony seats. Tickets may be purchased online at www.TheNewtonTheatre.com or by calling the box office at 973-383-3700. The box office is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
