Blairstown - At 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 4, all are invited to see the acclaimed film “An Inconvenient Truth” which offers an inspirational look at Albert Gore’s efforts to turn back the tide of global warming. This movie invests hard science with impassioned moral drive and will be shown at Genesis Farm, an ecological learning center. The local presentation of this film is a part of the nation-wide effort by Interfaith Power and Light which is sponsoring over 4,000 viewings during the first week of October. “In 39 years I have never written these words in a movie review but here they are: you owe it to yourself to see this movie. If you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you did not,” said film critic Roger Ebert. With wit, smarts and hope “An Inconvenient Truth” ultimately brings home the message that we can no longer afford to view global warming as a political issue. The film succeeds at cutting through the confusion surrounding global warming by making a clear, compelling case for how human actions are affecting the planet. “We hope that many people who are not inclined to agree that there is a climate crisis will come to see the film so that we can broaden our conversation and understanding,” said Lori Gold, a staff member of Genesis Farm. Genesis Farm is located at 41A Silver Lake Rd., (Route 608, Frelinghuysen) Blairstown. It is a project of the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell.
