HEWITT — A PowerPoint presentation exploring the New York and Greenwood Lake Railroad, from Pompton to Greenwood Lake, will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at the Long Pond Ironworks Visitor Center.
The railroad carried vacationers to the resort hotels on Greenwood Lake and shipped ice and iron ore out of the area. The program will be presented by Hans Segboer and is sponsored by the North Jersey Highlands Historical Society.
The event begins at 7 p.m. Long Pond Ironworks Visitor Center is located on Greenwood Lake Turnpike in Hewitt.
